JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION:
YMCA Van Driver.
GENERAL
FUNCTION:
Under
the direction of the Program Director, the Van Driver is responsible
for the transportation of YMCA participants and equipment authorized
by the Program Director; responsible for routing maintenance and inspection
of vans as prescribed by YMCA policies and procedures; serve as a
positive adult role model; maintain safe and nurturing environment.
REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum
age of 21 years or older
- Current
Hawaii State Driver's License
- Must
complete satisfactorily the YMCA Certification Program including all
State Dept. of Transportation requirements
- First
Aid Certification
- TB
Clearance
- Fingerprinting
& Criminal History Check
DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Past
experience with the YMCA or related organization in the childcare
field
- Knowledge
of group work methods
- Have
the ability and desire to develop new skills
- Current
CPR certification

SEGMENTS:

- Transport
passengers and equipment as assigned by the Program Director.
- Relate
to children with respect and understanding and realize that you are

- Responsible
for the maintenance and repair of YMCA vans.
- Maintains
accurate records and documentation.
- Responsible
for the safety, health and welfare of all passengers during the loading,
transit and unloading of the van.
- Adheres
to all YMCA, State and County laws and policies relating to vans.
- Works
closely with YMCA Directors in maintaining and improving safety standards
for vans and passengers.
- Maintains
vans in clean and safe condition through regular maintenance activities.
- Responsible
for reporting any mechanical problems immediately and assisting as
needed.
- Responsible
for reporting to work and meetings as scheduled and on time.
- Responsible
for one's own growth; willing to try new things; learn and apply.
- Complete
other duties as assigned by Program Director.
